Brain Body Play

Your New Favorite Hobby. Train Your Brain Through Play and Movement

gRAB THE free 3 GAME FUN PACK HERE

Welcome to Brain Body Play Club

Have you realized the world is designed to make your brain and body lazy or less efficient?

I am here to change that!

Something To Think About...

  • Our homes are voice-activated.
  • We've automated our lives to pay bills, remind us of meetings, store our contacts so we never have to memorize a phone number again.
  • We don't even need to write anymore because of voice notes.
  • Automatic cars or even self-driving cars are the norm.
  • Literally any information you would ever want is available at the tips of your fingers.

Everything we rely on today is designed to make your brain and body work LESS.

We think these things are making life easier, but we are actually keeping our brain from working and doing. We are literally starving our brain and dulling the brain-body connections that are needed to keep us sharp, focused, coordinated, and resilient.

This means we now need to intentionally challenge our brain-body connection, or it slowly fades, and you start complaining that you can no longer remember the name of your best friend from high school, or what you walked into the kitchen for. You feel unsteady on your feet and often refer to yourself as clumsy or have terrible balance. You get easily distracted and overstimulated as if there is no filter, and everything is in high-def with no off button.

The Good News?

By practicing these unique movement puzzles and visual coordination charts, you are actively forcing your brain to create new neural pathways.

You are strengthening the connection from brain to your physical body.

You are giving your brain and nervous system fresh, challenging, and different information, which means you are creating a different outcome.

You are taking control of your cognitive health, having fun while doing it, and intentionally designing a better, more engaged future.

Why not have a hobby that supports you and makes you better along with being fun!?

Why Coodination Charts and Finger Games?

Play is superior in strengthening the brain & body

Using coordination charts is more like recess instead of homework for brain-body training. These games strengthen the connections between your eyes, inner ear, and muscles. This helps the brain and body communicate better, which leads to better cognition,  focus, memory, coordination, balance, decision-making and more.

Hands use more brain power than your entire torso and legs combined.

Finger Games use your hands which take up a huge part of your brain's real estate due to a high number of sensory and motor nerve endings. Finger games challenge the part of the brain that is responsible for timing, accuracy, balance, motor learning, and coordination. The hands are highly effective in training your brain.

About me

Hi, I'm Feather

I'm a movement teacher, licensed massage therapist, applied neurology practitioner, and cerebellar stroke survivor.

For years, I've explored how the brain and body work together through movement, sensory systems, coordination, attention, and practice.

Brain Body Play is the natural evolution of that work.

A place where science, movement, curiosity, and play meet.

Because some of the most powerful learning happens when we stop trying to fix ourselves and start paying attention instead.

I had a progression through exploration that has gone from Pilates to mobility to applied neurology to brain games.

I have found brain games or movement puzzles help me just as much, if not more than, the brain drills I was doing, but FUN.

The combination of movement with the brain has had the biggest impact on me.

Brain drills helped me progress more than I ever did after my stroke, but brain games have helped me sustain it and progress even more, all while playing with my 6 year old son, who has also made improvements in his focus and executive function with these movement puzzles. It's fun for everyone!

Some games are easy, and some are difficult. Everyone is different in how they respond, but we can all make gains with movement puzzles.

Some shout-outs to people who have gotten me this far.

Missy Bunch is who I learned applied neurology from. You can check her out at MissyBunch.com

Coordination charts are a part of applied neurology, but Dr. Jackie takes them to the next level, which is where I learned so much about brain games. You can check her out at CoordinationCharts.com
